    Course Details

    Who is it suitable for?  This qualification is suitable for candidates already working within the carpentry industry who want to gain a recognised qualification.

    What’s involved?  This qualification enables candidates to recognise their skills, knowledge and understanding as well as demonstrating their competence in the workplace when carrying out the role of bricklayer within the construction industry. The units include confirming the occupational method of work in the workplace, confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace, conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace, developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace and setting out to form masonry structures in the workplace.

    Where might it lead? On completion of this qualification, the candidate will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrated competence to progress on to a higher-level qualification in the same or similar occupational area. Further training and/or experience could enable entry into supervisory and management positions within the workplace. Industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

     

    Course Duration: We would estimate a minimum of 12 months. The time it takes to complete the workplace portfolio will vary per candidate. (Please speak with an advisor for current attendance options).

    Delivery method: The qualification will consist of home study, centre attendance for theory sessions, practical training in the workshop and the collection of workplace evidence.

    Assessment methods: A combination of observations, assessments, professional discussions, written and oral questioning, online and multiple-choice tests and portfolio evidence gathering through reflective accounts and formal observations in the workplace.

    Entry requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. The qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area. However, this qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means that candidates must be employed to undertake this qualification.

    How much does it cost? £3,833.33 +VAT. (If the Level 2 diploma has been achieved before then a reduced rate maybe available: £1250).
