    Course Details

    Who is it suitable for?  The Level 3 Diplomas in Hairdressing and Barbering are suitable for people who have taken a level 2 or level 3 qualifications, and/or have been working in the industry and are looking to accredit their skills and knowledge.

    What’s involved?  These qualifications provide progression opportunities for those with intentions of progressing into employment.

     3002-30 Level 3 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing (500/9099/9)

     Topics covered:

    • Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
    • Consultation support for colleagues on hair services
    • Cut women’s hair to create a variety of looks
    • Style and dress hair using a variety of Techniques
    • Colour hair to create a variety of looks
    • Creative Hairdressing Design Skills
    • Perm hair to create a variety of looks

    Plus a selection of optional units including Human resource management within the hair and beauty sector, provide hair extension services, hair colour correction, style and finish African Type Women’s Hair using a variety of techniques, relaxing services for African Type hair, bridal hairstyling, provide scalp massage services, promote products and services to clients in a salon, make and style a hair addition, display stock to promote sales in a salon, salon reception duties.

    Delivery method A mixture of prior home study, classroom revision, group discussions, assignments and workshop practical training.

    Assessment methods Online multiple-choice tests, practical and written assessments.

    Entry requirements Candidates must be able to demonstrate good customer service. You don’t need a current work placement to enrol onto this qualification and there are options for those with little or no experience. Entry will be based on initial assessments and an interview.
