Who is it suitable for?  This qualification is suitable for candidates who want to gain a recognised qualification in bricklaying and develop their skills for progression to employment or to further learning.

What’s involved?  This qualification enables candidates to demonstrate and recognise their skills, knowledge and understanding to be able to work as a Bricklayer within the construction industry. The units include analysing technical information, quantities and communication with others, analysing the construction industry and built environment, health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries, repair and maintain masonry structures, as well as optional units including construct chimney and fireplace structures, construct complex masonry structures and construct decorative features.

Where might it lead? On completion of this qualification, the candidate will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress on to a higher-level supervisory or management qualification in their chosen occupational area or progress into employment in their chosen trade. Industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

Course Duration: We would estimate the course duration as a minimum of 6 months. The time it takes to complete the qualification will vary per candidate. (Please speak with an advisor for current attendance options).

Delivery method: The qualification will consist of home study and centre attendance for practical training in the workshop.

Assessment methods: A combination of practical assessments and online multiple-choice tests.

Entry requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. The qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.

This qualification has been developed for achievement in a training environment which means you do not need to be employed to take this qualification.
