Who is it suitable for?  This qualification is suitable for candidates who want to gain a recognised qualification in plastering and develop their skills for progression to employment or to further learning.

What’s involved?  This qualification provides candidates with a range of plastering skills and knowledge. Candidates will also develop an understanding of the health and safety requirements for working in the construction industry and the industry itself. The units include apply plaster to internal surfaces, apply render to external surfaces, construction health and safety, preparing background surfaces for plasterwork and the construction industry, as well as optional units including fix drylining and plasterboard products, mixing construction materials, produce cement castings, repair and maintain plasterwork and forming sand and cement screeds.

Where might it lead? The purpose of these qualifications is to equip learners with the knowledge and understanding to progress into a job role in the construction industry. Learners also have the option to go on to undertake a Level 3 qualification in their chosen trade.

Course Duration: We would estimate the course duration as a minimum of 6 months. The time it takes to complete the qualification will vary per candidate. (Please speak with an advisor for current attendance options).

Delivery method: The qualification will consist of home study and centre attendance for practical training in the workshop.

Assessment methods: A combination of practical assessments and online multiple-choice tests.

Entry requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for learners undertaking these qualifications. The qualifications can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.

This qualification has been developed for achievement in a training environment which means you do not need to be employed to take this qualification.
