What is EWPA? EWPA means experienced worker practical assessment. It offers experienced learners a way of achieving a qualification.
Who is the course suitable for? This course is suitable for anyone who is experienced in the trade. You will need to have the ability to cope with the demands of a practical assessment, to work safely and sensibly at all times and to discuss your work activities with others.
What’s involved in the course? Learners are assessed to ensure they meet the standards of the following NVQ units:
Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
Erecting structural carcassing components in the workplace
Installing first fixing components in the workplace
Installing second fixing components in the workplace
Maintaining non-structural carpentry in the workplace
Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
Setting up and using transportable cutting and shaping machines in the workplace
Where can this assessment lead me? Once completed, candidates are able to apply for an Experienced Worker CSCS card.
Course Details
This course takes 1 to 2 days in an assessment centre and is based on practical assessment, witness testimonies and professional discussions. You must hold a current health and safety qualification as well as over 5 years’ experience in the industry.
