Who is it suitable for?  This qualification is suitable for candidates already working within the building maintenance/multi-trade repair industry who want to gain a recognised qualification.

What’s involved?  This qualification enables candidates to demonstrate and recognise their skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work as a Maintenance Operative within the construction industry. Candidates could progress onto further training at Level 3. The units include carrying out masonry trade repairs, painting and decorating trade repairs, plastering trade repairs, plumbing trade repairs, roofing trade repairs, tiling trade repairs, wood trade repairs, develop customer service relationships, erect and dismantle access equipment and working platforms, health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries, understanding construction technology and understanding information, quantities and communication with others.

Where might it lead? On completion of this qualification, the candidate will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress on to a higher level qualification in the same or similar occupational area or progress into employment in their chosen trade.

Course Duration: We would estimate the course duration as a minimum of 6 months. The time it takes to complete the qualification will vary per candidate. (Please speak with an advisor for current attendance options).

Delivery method: The qualification will consist of home study and centre attendance for practical training in the workshop.

Assessment methods: A combination of practical assessments and online multiple-choice tests.

 Entry requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. The qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.

This qualification has been developed for achievement in a training environment which means you do not need to be employed to take this qualification.
